Typos and Grammatical Errors…Oh My!

As someone who does edits for a living and is the human dictionary for her husband on a daily basis, I’ve come across several types and grammatical errors. I’m one of those types who can be reading a great book or magazine or blog and stop cold when a word goes missing. Silly right? Not really. You see, when you are reading a book or magazine, you don’t expect to see a missing word or heaven for bid, a typo, right in the middle of an important section. They are suppose to have editors and proofreaders to catch those mistakes, right? Well, what happened? Most likely, just human error. It happens, but it doesn’t negate the fact that it is bothersome.

The same can be said for blogs. Even I make silly little typso from time to time.  (Psst…did you catch that one???)  It’s inevitable.  But, I must implore you, please…use your spellchecker!  Not only on your Word or Excel documents, but here, on WordPress.  Double-check your work to the best of your ability, that way, you won’t have people like me emailing you, telling you that you have misspellings or missing words.  And believe me, there are plenty of us out there!  You can also ask a friend to take a look.  A fresh set of eyes never hurt anyone, right?
